Well, you know you wanted to read this and not just look at the pictures. What you might not realize about adult movies is that they are a hotter social topic than they are a debate. If you were to say the words ‘adult movies ‘ in a crowded room, you would get a variety of responses, including disgust, anger, sadness, and arousal. It’s true, the world does have pornography and it does sell it to those who want to see it on demand on adult movies. But does society as a whole have the right to judge it? That’s what many people are asking.

Pornography in Society

The truth is the sex sells, and it sells big. Pornography is in high demand across the world and it’s helping to support many economies and entrepreneurs. In addition, porn has become a market in which nearly anything goes. Since people all have different tastes, there have been just as many niches that have developed in porn as there have developed in any other market. This has allowed porn to grow and to expand, even when the economy is down. With well-produced movies to those made on a home camera, pornography can come in all shapes, sizes, and qualities. Often hidden in adult movie stores or online, pornography may not be blatant in the world, but it is certainly a strong part of society.

The Case for Personal Responsibility

Many people argue the presence of pornography in the world, but have no problem with other forms of nudity, as in art. The argument is that pornography is degrading to women and it is immoral as a result. But this is not the case. Pornography is highly regulated and performers need to sign consent forms as well as verify their age of consent. Those who are in adult movies are there because they wanted to get paid for doing something, well, that they love to do and that they are good at doing. Those who are offended by the presence of porn in society might want to simply turn away from the stores and not be patrons of them. This way, the stores don’t get more attention as they do when there are protests and other sorts of demonstrations.

Protecting Children from Adult Movies

With all of this in mind, children should not be exposed to porn during their lifetimes. When they are, they can have skewed views of what sex should look like. To protect children from porn, adults should make sure they have high quality security systems on their computers, which filter certain sites from children. In addition, children should be taught that those images are for consenting adults over the age of eighteen. Any pornography should be kept out of sight of children and locked up from their view.

Pornography is something that arouses (!) a number of responses from people in society. But since it’s not going anywhere, perhaps it’s just time to learn to live with it.
